School of Biologyand Food Engineering (SBFE)

     School of Biology and Food Engineering (SBFE) has four full-time undergraduate specialties— Bioscience, Food Quality and Safety, Bioengineering, Food Science and Engineering. Of it 54 faculty members, SBFE has 13 professors, 20 associate professors, 25 with doctorate. It also boasts 1 school team of scientific innovation, 2 outstanding teachers as well as 2 academic leaders of college level.

SBFE has 1 Provincial Demonstration Center for Elementary Bio Experiment, 4 students’ innovative lab, 11 R&D platform, over 20 professional lab covering various specialties, 5 training room for engineering and artistry, the total area of which amounts to more than 13,000 square meters. Over 70 research projects are underway in SBFE, out of which 4 sponsored by national key fund, more than 10 provincial or ministerial fund, 30 city or department fund. Oriented by future biotechnology and agriculture and food science and engineering, SBFE emphasizes cooperation with local government and enterprises to cultivate applied talents for biotechnology, future agriculture, food processing industry in the Yangtze River Delta.
